My Story

Hello! I'm Aditya Ganeshwade,

The four times World Champion and an Arjuna Award nominee for three consecutive years. My story goes back to my first grade when I practiced speed skating under Mr Raju Dhabade, the founder of the Rollball game. Until 2005, I watched my seniors play and practiced rollball everyday. The thrill and the speed of the game drove me towards it as I pleaded Raju sir to allow me to play alongside. At last, I was introduced to the game and I started practicing on a regular basis. I played as a goal keeper for a year and later practiced forward play drill and shots.

I remember this particular district championship, in which I played as a goal keeper for the complete season and in the finals, we were down by 3-0. Seeing the score, I requested our coach to let me play as a forward, and to my delight, I scored four goals! We won that match by 4-3. This is how I started my career as an attacker.

In a 2006-2007 state championship, I made a record of scoring 29 goals in a single game, which was the highest ever in history. I’ve been consistent at national level over the years and been a gold/silver medalist for every national since 2007.

Finally in 2010, I got into the Indian National team. Seeing my satisfactory performance at the Asia championship, I made it to the Indian team for the 2011 World Championship. In the same tournament, I was the highest goal scorer. Again in 2013 and 2017 world championships, I secured most number of goals. I’m the first player in history to score more than 100 international goals and the only player to play under the Indian National team for more than a decade.
